Sandy asks…
what rigs to use for trout fishing!?
i’m going trout fishing and i have a lot of baits. Powebait, corn, marshmello, worm, trout worm, grub worm, but not insects or flies. But, i know a powerbait rig, but i wanna no more about trout fishing. And can i use a heavy ocean fishing rod with heavy and strong danawa reel with like 40pound line in lakes? i have like 3 oz and 2oz weights so u don’t need to worry about that so if i organize
1.trout fishing rig except powerbait rig
2.cartfish or big fish rig with 1~3oz weights and heavy rod and reel and heavy line and! what to use for bait for them.

Power bait is my fav – but in streams it’s small spinners and spoons with an occassional garden worm or small night crawler. You might think about using dragonfly nymphs like our Aussie friend said – except in the Northeast we call them perch bugs.
Now is the time of the year to get a rake with the hard 3-4 inch tines and go to a pond and pull in seaweed up on to the shore and look for the perch bugs – or you can take a screen on two boards and rack some mud/seaweek onto it and wait for them to start crawling out – when you get about 20-30 of them you use a size 14 or 16 hook with a clear bobber – you will have to experiment with how deep to set the bobber’s leader until you find where the fish (trout) are – at what depth.
