Laura asks…
When did Rapala change from metal spoons to plastic spoons for fishing lures?
I found a Rapala Sinking Magnum with a Metal Spoon in an old tackle box that is in fair condition. In the years I have been fishing I don’t think I have ever seen one with a metal spoon on it before. When did Rapala change from metal spoons to plastic? The lure is about as long as my index finger, painted brown on the back and yellow on the belly with a red throat. Is there any value in a metal spoon Rapala?
Joy answers:
Didn’t change. It was made for saltwater and heavy duty use. They still have them.
A favored lure for thresher sharks.
