Your Questions About Fly On Desktop 2011

George asks…

(Long) Help with conceived dates, due dates and the countdown – what is the average week for birth?

I’m slightly panicking because my partner has this countdown thing on the computer’s desktop saying “Baby countdown” – it says “8 WEEK’s to go!” …I’m only 29/30 weeks? …8 week’s will fly by, is this right?? …I just thought it would be longer and I thought babies come about 40-42 weeks?

- Apparently my due date is 18th September according to the midwives.

- But I’m more convinced that it’s around the 23rd September 2011 because otherwise it doesn’t make sense when we conceived.

- We only had sex once on Christmas Day 25th December 2010 and I had my period on the 17th December 2010, I know this off by heart, because my partner asked me to check dates before he travelled home.

- I’ve used the NHS Pregnancy Due Date Calendar.

http://www.nhs.uk/Planners/pregnancycareplanner/Pages/DueDateCalculator.aspx

“You are 30 weeks pregnant – Your due date is: 23 September 2011

Another one I’ve used says…

First Day of Last Menstrual Period: December 17, 2010
Probable Date of Ovulation: December 31, 2010
Possible Dates of Conception: December 27 to January 4, 2011
Due Date: September 23, 2011 (40 weeks)

…Which also sounds very spot on.
Sorry, I sound really naive in the first paragraph, I think it’s just realisation of how long I’ve got until ‘it’s’ here lol.

Joy answers:

You have pretty much nailed it. Your probable day of conception was December 31, 2010. You due date would be September 23, 2011 and you would be 40 weeks. That would make you 31 weeks today. If you were to go to the full 40 weeks then you would be due in 9 weeks. So time will likely fly by; sorry to tell you. I know it is stressful to think that you are so close to the end, but just take one day at a time. You should start getting your affairs in order and preparing for the baby. You could go a bit earlier then 40 weeks or later then 40 weeks. Your midwives could have determined your due date of Sept. 18th by your babies size on ultrasound. Your baby may have measured a bit bigger then he/she should have which is not abnormal at all. An ultrasound can be 2 weeks more or 2 weeks less then your actual due date and your baby can weigh less or more then it predicts. I hope this info is helpful to you and I wish you the best of luck with the rest of your pregnancy.
