Can I fish with flies on a normal rod?
Im going fishing this weekend on vacation and I would really like to use hand made flies as lures, but I don’t have a fly rod. So I would like to know if I can use my normal bass fishing rod with flies as a lure? (I am just letting them float downstream I barley need to cast)

Yes. You’ll need a bubble float, though. A fly under a bubble float is called the “float ‘n fly” rig and is popular amongst bass, panfish, and trout chasers who opt for spinning tackle instead of fly gear. If you have an ultralight, it can actually cast some larger flies without a bubble.
