Sharon asks…
help me out with fishing lures, please?
I’m looking to do some major bluegill fishing before winter hits, and while nightcrawlers are the most productive, the bluegill strip them off my hook easily no matter how I attach them, so therefore I’m wanting to try some very small spinning lures.
So far, I have:
Size 0 Mepps Aglia Spin Fly Wooly Worm ( http://www.mepps.com/information/aglia-spin-fly-wooly-worm/422#description ) in Orange and Black, with a brass blade
Size 2 (1/16oz) Panther Martin Salamander spinner in yellow, with red spots body with silver and red spots blade.
I’m looking to get some variations of those, and some lighter ones (Mepps Ultra Lite Wooly Worm, maybe Black Fury, as well as some random size 1 PM spinners) but I also want to pick up a couple rooster tails. I have a couple but I don’t know if they are the correct size. Someone answered one of my last questions regarding this saying that I should use a 1/16oz rooster tail, however, I have no way of knowing the weight by feel yet. All I know is the blade on this rooster tail has a “1″ on it. What does that mean? What weight would a size 1 rooster tail be?
Also, recommend some specific styles. I’d like to keep it in those three brands.

Use a 1 1/2″ Rattlin’ Rapala, it worked wonders for me bluegill just destroyed this lure. Rebel Crawfish in the smallest size you can find, it is awesome for bluegill and bass
