Your Questions About Fly Fishing Lures

Daniel asks…

tool for cutting rubber tails on home made flying c fishing lures?

flying c fishing spinners have a v shape cut in the tail section is there a special tool for this

Joy answers:

Believe the type spinner you be talkin’ about is for Salmon? That “V” cut your referrin’ to, comes from the mold that’s used to produce the soft plastic body ~ and is not cut after comin’ out of the mold itself. Maybe other Answers ppl will have a little more insight with this;)…
Note: If your fabricatin’ the worm itself, after settin’ up, an Xacto knife with NEW blade (razor) could be used. Now if your talkin’ about make-shiftin’ a plastic store bought worm, same procedure ~ just make sure cut is centered (careful bout’ cuttin’, those plastic worms, they get squirrley and them fingers are soft ~ OUCH’ ;)
