Steven asks…
What’s your most productive tackle setup? Fly, artificial lures, or live bait?
I’ve fished a lot, and depending on my mood I use fly tackle, spin/cast tackle with artificial lures, or spin/cast tackle and live bait. I’ve had good days on all of them, but the fly rod seems to be my most consistently productive setup. Oddly enough, I usually have the least success with live bait.
Which setup works best for you? Do you have much experience fishing with the other methods? What’s your most productive approach? What species do you usually target? Do you use different setups for different species?
Joy answers:
Baitcasters and trigger rods 6 to 8 feet long are my favorite set ups for using artificial lures, though I do use a light spinning rod in some situations. My most productive approach is using plastics and topwater lures, however I do use live bait when it’s around. Largemouth bass is my primary target. I don’t use different set ups for different species, I use different set ups for different lures.
