Big K-What would be best way to fish rolling trout if you had to choose between metal lures and flies?
Or near the surface. Lets say its a small group of them and they are starting to move away what would you pick.This includes the time to set up and get into position. The fish are about 30yds away and you are in the tube

Like Chimp Dancer said, I’d go with the dry flies first and try for a surface hook up. If that doesn’t work, I’ll go with a wet fly… Or a woolly bugger or something that looks like the larvae hatching. If doing that doesn’t at least get a strike, then I’ll try some kind of spinner. If they all fail, then I’ll just say screw it and pull out a large treble hook and snag the sumbitches… They’re going in the blender anyway.
