What weight fly rod is best for fishing for brook trout in small streams?

There are few places offering something around Brookie fishing but I think my son 9 foot 5 weight is a little too big for small trout. I was thinking like a 3 small pesos. What do you think? Thank you

You may be right about the downsizing of length, but (in my opinion), a weight of 4 to 5, would be perfect. Why? In the "flow" may be the big trout. (When I say "big" I mean 4LB 3). Small streams "Knit and divert" which is terribly important for a prey. I July 1 '6 "4-5 weight that works perfectly for brookes hunting. The flow rate of 8-12 FT and proliferation heavy on all banks during the fishing season. I know for a fact there are large trout in this stream, I seen ……….. Hope this helps?
