guadalupe river fly fishing

Stripers, trout, and the ugly stick!?
I live in Texas, and the nearest trout stream is stored Guadalupe River. Now I am Winter fly fishing course, but I'm getting stripers that are stored in the lake above which swim through the Canyon Lake Dam. I would like ask a model trout bait CL8 Cb 5, but under my rod may be too small. It is said that can throw the bait to 3 / 4 oz but CB 5 was 9 / 10 oz .. Can you still draw? I'm fairly new swimbaits, and the only one I ever used was a small bluegill (which explains why I do not understand not the b-9). I sure this will be the first swimbait fisherman on the Guadalupe, and we never use trout swimbaits. It should completely kill stripers, but What can hold my cane? Besides, how are ter-5 job, is it good? My rod is a medium 7 'long
I do everything to harlequin 30 pound king salmon fish and use my 10 'light pole Fenwick steelhead action for all tests of 8 pounds.
